Analysis scheme for SMM tools

This scheme is based on the so called "feature analysis", described in "DESMET: A method for evaluatiing Software Engineering methods and tools" in 1996 by Barbara Kitchenham. This will be a modified version of this feature analysis, in which the following steps will be performed:
  1. categorization of the tools
  2. benchmark of the single properties using the benchmark scheme
  3. mark if the use of a tools API is for free
  4. display the results in graphical way
  5. compute the point for every tool using a formula
  6. rank the tools

Concept of categorisation

One subgoal of my bachelor thesis will be the categorisation of the social media monitoring tools i will look at. In the actual list there are 30 tools. The complete list will be published, when it is fixed.
This goal should be accomplished to make it easier to find the right tools for the special need of the user. To do so, i'm developing a scheme with a bunch of criterias, which will give an overview about the features and properties of the tools as well as their use of sources. I won't present the whole scheme here and now because it's not finished by now.
I now want to give a short idea how a categorisation of tools concernig the features of the tools could look like:

Practical Evaluation and Comparison

I will do a practical evaluation of some tools to compare them directly, monitoring the same queries over period of 4 weeks. This will be scheduled beginning in the middle of december. I would be very pleased, if I could get access to the following tools for this period.
It would be great if I could get support of these companies. It's my goal to evaluate the final list of tools for this comparison until the end of october or beginning of november. So I will contact these companies in the very near future and I hope to get some positive reactions for this. The final list will be posted here as soon as it is fix.
